Earth Rise
1968年のクリスマスシーズン中、フランク・ボーマン、ジェームズ・ラヴェル、ウィリアム・アンダースの3人は、アポロ8号司令船で地球から月へ、そして地球へ帰還するミッションを遂行しました（12月21日打ち上げ、月周回10周、12月27日着陸）。アポロ8号ミッションの数々の偉業には、サターンVロケットを使用した初の有人飛行、人類初の月面着陸、そして深宇宙から地球を撮影した初の試みなどが含まれます。

During the 1968 Christmas season Frank Borman, James Lovell, and William Anders flew the Apollo 8 command module From the Earth to the Moon and back (launched Dec. 21, achieved 10 lunar orbits, landed Dec. 27). The Apollo 8 mission's impressive list of firsts includes; the first manned flight using the Saturn V rocket, the first humans to journey to the Earth's Moon, and the first to photograph the Earth from deep space.
