ほら、来た！1週間ほど前、国際宇宙ステーションの宇宙飛行士たちにとって、シグナス補給船は待ち望んでいた光景だった。3日前にフロリダ州ケープカナベラルからユナイテッド・ローンチ・アライアンスのアトラスVロケットで打ち上げられたオービタルATKのシグナス宇宙船は、絵のように美しい地球を背景に国際宇宙ステーションに接近した。太陽が画像の左上を照らし、接近する宇宙船のはるか下の雲を照らしていた。ロボット宇宙船シグナスは、まずカメラで、その後、ESAのフライトエンジニアであるトーマス・ペスケとNASAの第51次長期滞在ミッションのコマンダーであるペギー・ウィットソンによって、宇宙ステーションのカナダアーム2で撮影された。生化学者であるコマンダーのウィットソンは、宇宙滞在日数の合計でアメリカ人の新記録を樹立した。必需品の他に、シグナスは、サッカー場ほどの大きさの地球周回前哨基地で行われている200以上の科学実験を支援する機器を運んでいた。

There it is! The Cygnus supply ship was a welcome sight to the astronauts on the International Space Station just over a week ago. Launched three days before on a United Launch Alliance Atlas V from Cape Canaveral, Florida, the Orbital ATK's Cygnus spacecraft approached the International Space Station above the backdrop of a picturesque planet Earth. The Sun was setting off the image to the upper left, illuminating clouds well below the approaching vehicle. The robotic Cygnus spacecraft was captured first on camera and later with the space station's Canadarm2 by ESA's Flight Engineer Thomas Pesquet and NASA's Expedition-51 Commander Peggy Whitson. Commander Whitson, a biochemist, has now set a new American record for the most total days in space. Besides essentials, the Cygnus carried equipment to bolster over 200 science experiments being conducted on the football-field sized Earth-orbiting outpost.
